Sexual Abuse and Harmful Sexual Behaviour in Children and Young People

This course is aimed at equipping professionals to recognise the signs of sexual abuse in children and how to respond when there are concerns a child has been sexually abused. The impact of sexual abuse on victims andhow to manage the risk from adult perpetrators to children is covered. In relation to sexually harmful behaviour the course covers Experimentation vs Abuse and how the ‘Brook Tool’ can support assessment of age-appropriate sexualised behaviour and AIM2 risk assessment and how it should be applied in cases of harmful sexual behaviour.

The one day course is recommended for Multi-Agency Practitioners, Team Managers and Safeguarding Leads who work with children and families and who have completed a Basic Awareness in Safeguarding Children Training
